Be Kind to Yourself...

As I meditate and write, contemplate and illustrate, I come across some of the most interesting articles, blogs, web-sites and books related to kindness of self. At this particular time I am reading: Be Kind to Yourself, and being kind to myself by traveling to Ontario, Canada to visit family and friends. My trip has provided me with a stop-over in Vancouver where I've checked-into a luxury hotel to enjoy a massage and a relaxing dinner. I'm being kind to myself, living (not existing) in two of the five modalities that create joy [love and play]; as you may recall from an earlier post: What Makes Life Worth Living... there are five modalities that you should consider spending time in each day, or in a series of days, so that you're not wasting time simply existing (living in fear) in a world of stress and dis-ease. The five modalities, in order of priority, are: create, love, give, play and learn.

I do find it interesting that so many people yield to themselves; that they work hard, support a family, help their friends, but rarely are they kind to themselves. And this doesn't mean being selfish; on the contrary, it's more of a Spirit true-self conscious observation of giving, and loving, yourself.

The Mind Whisperer - The power of positive thinking and mind power wisdom: Keep it simple - Less is more

The Mind Whisperer - The power of positive thinking and mind power wisdom: Keep it simple - Less is more

It's a Wonderful Life...

Although life itself is wonderful, living it can be a challenge; especially if your character misguides you, as mine has done, so many times.

In the past few weeks I've met some ordinary people with some very extraordinary challenges; mostly emotional baggage. When I listen to their stories I can't help but wonder how they ever managed to check their baggage and move forward.

Dianetics...

While visiting Cape Town, South Africa I picked up a book from a used-book store; a book titled: Dianetics, by L. Ron Hubbard.

Dianetics has remained a bestseller for more than 50 years. And with over 20 million copies sold, generating a movement that spans virtually every country on Earth, it is indisputably one of the most widely read and influential books ever written about the human mind.

Dianetics is a set of ideas and practices regarding the metaphysical relationship between the mind and body that was invented by the science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard and is practiced by followers of Scientology. Hubbard coined Dianetics from the Greek stems dia, meaning through, and nous, meaning mind.

Here is the anatomy and full description of the Reactive Mind, the previously unknown source of nightmares, unreasonable fears, upsets and insecurities which enslave Man. This book shows you how to get rid of it, and so achieve something Man has previously only dreamed of: the State of Clear. Among the discoveries herein:
  • The Goal of Man...
  • The Dynamic Principle of Existence -- the one word that motivates all living things...
  • The Four Dynamics -- the drives upon which all of life is compartmented...
  • The Descriptic Graph of Survival revealing ones true potential and how to achieve it...
  • The discovery of and complete anatomy of the Reactive Mind...
  • The painful experiences engrams contained in the Reactive Mind which command one to act irrationally against their own wishes and goals...
  • The impact of prenatal engrams that took place before you were born and how it has influenced you ever since...
  • Dianetics enables you to discover and eradicate harmful experiences so they never affect you again, revealing the one person you have always wanted to know -- you...
All of us, at one time or another, has experienced situations that through our own actions [choice] or the actions of others have left emotional scars [baggage] embedded in our sub-conscious mind. I don't think anyone is immune to this. Left un-checked, however, it can lead to depression and anxiety. If you think your life isn't so wonderful you may desire to read this book.

Have a joyous day...

If Life Had an Undo Button...

Imagine if life had an undo button; what would you use it for?

Unfortunately, there is no undo button, in life, per se. There is, however, a repeat button, and a go button, and if you don't understand at least the analogy of an undo button you may be doomed to repeat those things you wish you could undo.

I use this analogy to make a list of the decisions I've made in the past—that I wish I could undo—to determine 'who' made those decisions, and why. That is to say, were these particular decisions made by an unconscious character trait (a.k.a. egoic false-self), or a decision made by my Spirit true-self for its own spiritual growth. Then I ask myself, was I under the influence of an addiction or habit, either to an internal emotion like fear, or an external substance like alcohol; was I conscious, or unconscious when I made those decisions?

"We choose to create our own reality whether we're conscious or not..."

A decision to return to an on-again, off-again relationship turned out to be one that I would press the undo button if there were such a thing. I am now in the process of reviewing who made the decision, and why. At this time it is becoming clear that my Spirit true-self made the decision out of a desire to help my friend through a tough time. My decision to leave again was generated by my egoic false-self wanting to be on my own and thoughts of resentment that she was holding me back from becoming who I truly desire to be (holding me back emotionally and financially). I realize now that I cannot continue to repeat this process of getting involved with someone out of fear and loneliness. It's time to press the 'go' button and consciously allow my Spirit true-self to guide me to my ultimate destiny, which I know is joy (freedom from fear).

Make a List of Choices You've Made...

One of the conscious observation techniques, which works well for me, is to make a list of choices you've made in the past and assess its impact on your life. This is where the undo button theory is good; any decision you've made in the past—that you'd like to undo—will hit the list. I then divide the list into egoic false-self decisions and Spirit true-self decisions. To make it easier to identify which decision belongs to which self you can start with patterns; was this particular decision a repeat of a past decision (a.k.a., unconscious character trait - spontaneous - anger - jealously - fear - et cetera).

Are Not all Choices a Part of Learning?

Yes; knowledge (what you learn by study) + experience (what you do physically and emotionally) = wisdom. You cannot obtain wisdom without knowledge and experience; and this is only true if you retire old negative emotions to wisdom in the process so you can move forward; making known the unknown, as it were. Pressing the go button to experience new creations.

...have a joyous day; create, love, give, play and learn...

Your Life Was Never Meant to be a Struggle..

Editorial Reviews...

Product Description...

Ignorance and fear have driven humanity to pass on the lies handed down to us by our parents, teachers, religious leaders, and politicians. In an effort to control the behavior of society they have not told you of your awesome power. They have not told you of the freedom that is yours - your birthright.

We have tried to work within the confines of morality and darkness for thousands of thousands of years - we have not received what we were promised for the struggle, hardship, and acquiescence.

What makes intelligent people ignore the obvious? What we have been doing for thousands of years has not brought us what we desire or what we were promised as a species.

"What makes life worth living? Creating, Loving, Giving, Playing and Learning."
                                                                                               --E.J. Lister

Why is it that some people are poor while others are rich - is it luck, intelligence or just being in the right place at the right time? What is it that successful people know that you do not? Why is it that some people attract illness while others never catch so much as a sniffle? What is the secret behind a sudden recovery from a terminal illness? Why do some people have accidents and others not?

Life Was Never Meant to Be a StruggleWhy is it that some people attract the right people to them for mates while you struggle just to be noticed? Why is it that successful people have all kinds of friends and acquaintances around them that support them in abundance?

These questions have been asked for centuries, yet for all the history, insight, and enlightenment that humanity has - it always turns to the same source for answers. Too few have clued-in - it always brings us back to the same place of lack, accidents, war, illness, and fear. Hasn't anyone figured out the common denominator, what is wrong in the equation that is giving us the wrong answers?

Life was never meant to be a struggle, we were not put on this earth, we came by desire, and we are not here to learn anything. What is our real purpose - what transcends the obvious misery and struggle that we demonstrate in our lives everyday? Do you really believe that it is a God or Devil that is causing these things? Except for technical advances, as a species we really have not developed spiritually very much, and for good reason.

In my new book, Your Life Was Never Meant to be a Struggle, I go all the way and push all the buttons. There are no secrets - only for those who choose not to see.

Your body is an illusion, and you are a process not a thing. Your Life Was Never Meant to be a Struggle, takes you there - to the outer limits and beyond. Enlightenment does not mean you do not have to participate in life. It reveals purpose, and life is no longer a struggle. If you could amass great abundance at will - would you not be interested in the concept? If you didn't have to be sick or have accidents wouldn't you be just a little curious? If you could at least understand why your life is the way it is - would it not help you to know?

If enlightenment comes from awareness, then wouldn't a short glimpse outside of the box help you make better decisions? If there are secrets - who is keeping them from you and why?

Roy's thoughts are not new, they are simply said in a different way that most people can understand. Simple and eloquent in form that opens one's mind to new possibilities. No one comes away from this book without being enlightened.
